Mount Sterling man, directing traffic, stuck and killed this morning


Kentucky State Police Post 8 Morehead, is investigating a single vehicle fatal collision in that occured this morning in Lewis County. The collision occurred on KY 57 at approximately 8:40 am. Through the investigation, Troopers determined Allen D. Congleton, 25 years of age from Mt. Sterling, Ky was directing traffic while road construction was in progress. Allen Congleton was struck by a Chevy pick up being operated by Joshua T. Henderson, 26 years of age from Maysville, Ky. Mr. Congleton was transported to Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville where he was pronounced deceased. KSP was assisted by Lewis County Sheriff’s Department, Portsmouth EMS, Mason County EMS and Tollesboro Fire Department. Joshua Henderson was arrested and charged with Reckless Homicide, Leaving the Scene of Accident, Failure to Render Aid/Assist with Death or Serious Injury, Driving DUI Suspended 2nd (Aggravated) and Tampering with Physical Evidence. He is lodged in the Greenup County Detention Center. This collision remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police, Morehead.
