EKU provides free funds to aid students impacted by east KY flooding


If you know an EKU student that was impacted by the recent floods, this is very important information. With just 13 days before the start of classes at Eastern Kentucky University (EKU), the recent devastating flooding in Eastern Kentucky has greatly impacted many students who would otherwise be preparing for their return to campus. To help these students EKU has established the SAFE fund.” This stands for The Student Assistance Fund for Eastern. (SAFE) provides immediate assistance to EKU students who are unable to meet essential expenses due to an unexpected emergency or crisis situation.

SAFE funds can be allocated to a student with proven need often within 48 hours of application. This is REAL money fast with no obligation, so if you know an EKU student in Eastern KY please share this news. EKU President David McFaddin said “At Eastern Kentucky University, we pride ourselves on being more than an educational institution, we are a family,” “As someone who hails from Eastern Kentucky, I know how resilient the people of Eastern Kentucky are in the face of adversity. Even the toughest individual needs help during trying times EKU will utilize this fund, in addition to University support, to give immediate aid to the students who are impacted.
