Madison County Woman Faces Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop


Earlier in the week the Richmond Police Department report conducting a traffic stop in the area of West Irvine Street.

According to the citation from the Richmond Police Department, the operator of the vehicle was unidentified but the passenger was reportedly identified as 36 year old Michelle Scenters. It was further reported that the operator was unable to provide proof of insurance. The citation continues that an inventory search of vehicle was conducted as it was going to be towed away.

During the inventory search police report locating an orange octagon pill with the number 8 imprinted on it in the same location Scenters was allegedly sitting.

Scenters reportedly denied ownership, and stated she was only catching a ride with the operator. Scenters was then transported to the Madison County Detention Center. There Scenters was a recipient of a cavity search where allegedly on her person a purple vial of a white crystalized substance and a pipe with burn marks on it was found. She was charged with Possession of an Unidentified Substance 1st and 2nd Degree, a Paraphernalia charge and a Promoting Contraband Charge.
