Madison County Man Arrested for Wanton Endangerment, Harassment


Earlier this week, Richmond Police reported being dispatched in reference to a suicidal male, who was allegedly intoxicated and driving a brown Toyota van.

Police later report locating the unoccupied brown van in the parking lot of a church. The citation continues that they then made contact with the fiancé of the subject, who identified the suspect as 41-year-old David Obert. Obert’s reportedly pregnant fiancé, allegedly informed police that Obert had shoved her lightly onto the bed before an altercation ensued. She continued by stating Obert left the apartment following the verbal altercation.

According to the citation she also stated that she wasn’t in any pain nor was she injured. Police report deploying K-9 Unit Logan to locate the missing subject. Obert was reportedly apprehended not long after that and read his Miranda rights. Obert was arrested and lodged in the Madison County Detention center on charges of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree and Harassment (NO PHYSCIAL CONTACT/INJURY)
