Powell man found stuck between Powell County Schools, tells officer he thought he was in Lee County


Early Wednesday morning, at around 2:00am on 4-13-2022, Deputy Hunter Martin of the Powell County Sheriff’s Office observed the pictured vehicle at the Powell County High School. Upon further investigation by the officer, it was discovered the vehicle was in the grassy area that divides the parking lots of PCMS and PCHS. According to the officer, the driver of the vehicle was actively trying to remove his truck from being stuck in the mud by accelerating from forward to reverse repeatedly.

Deputy Martin was able to stop the driver from going any further and doing any more damage. Reed was alledged to be extremely impaired and told the officer he believed that he was in Lee County. Ledford Reed, age 43 of Clay City was placed under arrest and lodged in The Powell County Detention Center on the following charges.

– Operating On Suspended or Rev Oper License

– Failure To Wear Seat Belts- Criminal Mischief

– 3rd Deg- Poss Of Alc Beverage Container In Motor Veh Prohibited
