Madison Sheriff Department nabs CSX thieves


According to Sheriff Mike Coyle, on Friday February 11th, 2022 at approximately 3:00pm Deputy Kermeen was dispatched to a theft complaint that was called in by CSX Transportation. Members of the CSX Rail Crew observed males stealing company property in the area of the 1300 block of Union City Road. While in route Deputy Kermeen observed a pickup truck, matching the description provided by the CSX Rail Crew, that was occupied by three males and heavily weighted in the truck bed.

A traffic stop was initiated in the area of the Eastern Bypass/Fourmile Road. Throughout the course of the traffic stop and subsequent investigation all three occupants were charged with the following:

• Receiving Stolen Property $500 < $1,000

• Criminal Trespass 3rdAdditionally Mr. Benjamin Neeley, the operator, was charged with the following:

• Multiple traffic violations • Possession of Methamphetamine (3.3ggw)
