The Madison Central girls volleyball program will have a new coach on the sidelines next season. Janet Thacker has been hired to take over the team in a Twitter announcement the school made earlier tonight. Thacker takes over for Elizabeth Morrow who retired after last season.

Thacker has created a mini-dynasty with the middle school program at Caudill in Richmond with countless conference championships. She also just finished her only year as the head coach of the high school team at Bourbon County.

Thacker has been a major advocate for volleyball in the area, and has been around the Madison Central program a lot in the past. Her daughter is currently playing for Campbellsville after she went there after a tremendous career at Central and Thacker herself was the freshman coach in 2019.

The Central volleyball team went 21-13 this past season losing to Frederick Douglass in the first round of the 11th Region Tournament.
