A Harrodsburg man was taken into custody by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office on allegations that he is a panty thief…one hundred times over. According to police, on January 22, detectives from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office arrested 36-year-old John Hawkins III following previous suspicion of burglaries.

Police say the charges resulted from a lengthy investigation into a string of burglaries in the Shady Acres Mobile Home Park in Frankfort.

Recent information gained in the case led to Hawkins’s arrest at his home in Harrodsburg. During the arrest and search warrant execution at Hawkins’ home, detectives recovered approximately 100 pairs of women’s underwear and bras believed to have been stolen from residences in Franklin County.

Hawkins was arrested and charged with 7 counts of burglary 2nd degree.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Harrodsburg Police Department in the investigation and subsequent apprehension of Hawkins. Hawkins was taken into custody without incident.
