Storm ravaged Kirksville to be assessed by National Weather Service this week

A stretch of Kirksville received the worst of last weekend’s storms in Madison County. Most of the county was spared the devastation many of our fellow Kentuckian’s endured, but for the Josh Thomas family, they weren’t as fortunate. Many of you have seen the drone footage photo’s WBON-TV9 has shared of the home and farm destruction, the power poles snapped in half laying on the roadway, uprooted trees, and other scenes that looks much like the tornado-stricken portions of the state.

That is what the national weather service will be in Richmond this week to assess. Was it or wasn’t it a tornado? Many confirmed tornados were as close as Danville. We will continue to follow the story and report on their findings.
