Duo Leads Police on Multi-County Chase Starting Near EKU

Two suspects are under arrest following a high-speed pursuit and chase that began late Sunday night on the EKU Bypass in Richmond.

Madison County Sheriff’s Officers attempted to pull over a vehicle pulling an allegedly stolen tractor.

Madison County officials ended the chase at Clays Ferry, when Kentucky State Police picked up the pursuit. After successfully deploying spike strips on the vehicle, the chase ended around midnight at mile marker 132 on I-75 northbound. The subjects in the vehicle, later identified as 19 year-old Andrea Wallace of Germantown, Ohio and 41 year-old Keith Pugh of Middletown, Ohio, reportedly refused to exit and a long standoff occurred. A trooper with KSP Frankfort Post was able to reach the suspect driver via her cell phone, and negotiate a peaceful surrender around 3 AM this morning.

Wallace and Pugh were arrested and charged with numerous drug possession offenses. Wallace was additionally charged with Reckless Driving and Fleeing or Evading Police. Pugh was additionally charged with being a Fugitive from another state.
