A man that had escaped while on work duty as an inmate at the Madison County Detention Center is now back in custody after he was found in Ohio. According to Kentucky State Police, 45 year old Fredrick Pierce was serving time on a parole violation at Madison County Detention Center when he was working work release at the Madison County Animal Shelter. Police say he escaped during this time, and later that night there was a confirmed break-in at the shelter.
However, it was determined that Pierce allegedly stole a pickup truck belonging to the animal shelter and headed north. The truck was located in Shelby County, Ohio in front of a residence where Pierce was detained.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is currently holding Pierce, however he will be brought back to Madison County on a warrant for escape.
