It’s been over two years since Madison Central’s football team played in a game as big as the one coming up Friday evening against the Bryan Station Defenders. Sure, the thriller in the first round against Bryan Station last year was back and forth as Central came up just short in the playoffs to the tune of 14-13. This year’s matchup against Bryan Station features two top ten 6A teams fighting for first place in the 8th district which has major playoff implications.
The difference this time around is Central is (7-1) and is looking completely revamped this season, compared to the lackluster performance from last year.
Bryan Station has defeated Central seven out of the last eight games and has dominated Central on the gridiron. The matchup on Friday may prove to be the biggest game of the past eight. Not only are bragging rights and district implications on the line, but also a commanding respect for the winner in the playoff picture.
If Madison Central can pull off the win, it would cement the idea that Madison Central football is finally back to being competitive and a contender in the 6A after the outlier 2018 season.
The game is going to be streamed live on WBONTV and is slated to be the biggest gamesof the regular season for Madison Central.
With Madison Southern having the week off, WBONTV will also carry the Berea Pirates vs Frankfort High game, live on Facebook.
After dropping two straight ballgames, Berea looks to get back into the win column against Frankfort High. Frankfort has had a decent (5-3) season thus far and is trending towards the upper levels of the 1A rankings. Berea was able to put up a good offensive showing against Eminence high last week, but gave up 47 points in a disappointing losing effort. This will be the final regular season home game for the Pirates.
Be sure to tune into WBONTV’s live productions this Friday night as both Madison Central and Berea will have live coverage on WBONTV’s Facebook page starting at 7:10
