Duo arrested after allegedly driving under the influence with small child unrestrained


According to the Boyle County Sheriff’s office, two were taken into custody after they were allegedly under the influence around a young child. Danville Officers responded to the area of Lexington Road in reference to a male and a female possibly under the influence. The caller advised they had a small child in the car with them. Upon arrival by police, the vehicle had already left the area and a description of the suspects to be on the look out was sent out to surrounding agencies.

A short time later, an officer observed the vehicle making a right turn onto Perryville Road. It was confirmed the registered owner, Jacob Tankersley of Nicholasville had active warrants for his arrest. Police continue that a traffic stop was conducted on Ben Ali Drive and contact was made with the Tankersley as well as Hailey Turner of Nicholasville.

The child was observed in the back seat not properly restrained. The duo were confirmed to both have warrants. Also found in the vehicle by police were numerous syringes and suspected methamphetamine.

Tankersley and Turner were both transported to the Boyle County Detention Center and charged with wanton endangerment 1st degree, possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Tankersley was additionally charged with DUI. The child was safely released to a family member.
