KSP: Danville Man Charged with Murder Following Shooting


On Saturday evening, July 3, the Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was notified just before 7:00 pm in reference to a shooting that had occurred on Bryants Camp Road in Garrard County.

KSP Post 7 Troopers and Detectives, along with the Garrard County Police Department responded to the scene and discovered one man deceased. The initial investigation indicates the deceased was fatally shot during an altercation with another man.

Dustin Privett, 34 years old of Danville, KY, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Garrard County Coroner. His body was taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville, for an autopsy.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, Justin Parson, 23 years old of Danville, KY, has been arrested and lodged in the Jessamine County Detention Center. Parson is charged with Murder.
