The man that was found dead off Jason Drive on Monday has been identified by the Madison County Coroner following an investigation with Richmond Police Department and pending autopsy conducted in Frankfort. According to Coroner Jimmy Cornelison, the man was identified as 49-year-old Shannon Keith of Nicholasville.
However, Cornelison adds that there are still questions that need to be answered regarding cause and manner of death, but early indications show that it does not seem like Keith was harmed in any way and no foul play is suspected by authorities.
Original Story: In an interview with WBONTV, Coroner Jimmy Cornelison reported that they have made some headway in identifying the male body that was located in a wooded area off Jason Drive in Richmond, however there are still many questions.
The body, according to Cornelison, was located Monday by workers in the area. However, it was apparent that the man had been deceased for multiple days, making identification difficult. As of tuesday, Cornelison reports that they have had some luck trying to ID the victim through his tattoos, and calls have been made to is office.
As of press time, Cornelison still says if anyone in the area is aware of a missing person who this could be to contact his office. The cause and manner of death have still not been released as the autopsy is underway. Richmond Police are in Frankfort with the body while the autopsy is conducted and Cornelison says that an investigation is pending.
