Madison County Fire Department along with Richmond Fire Department and Madison County Sheriff’s Department were stationed at Jigg Water in Madison County for a water rescue Wednesday morning.
Richmond Fire Department tells WBONTV this is was reference to a missing woman and Madison County Fire had requested a boat from their Department as well as a swift water rescue team. The roadway was also blocked off from traffic for the first responders.
The woman has since been located by authorities and is safe. She was seen by a helicopter in a field, and Madison County Sheriff’s Department reports that a boat had to be utilized to reach her around noon.
Family of the woman says she will now be heading to the hospital for treatment as she had been missing since 4 p.m. Tuesday and does suffer from mental instability. According to family, she was with a group of people when she was swept away by the waters and was allegedly left by the group after a futile search attempt.
