Domestic Dispute Ends in the Arrest of a Madison County Man


Officers from the Richmond Police Department report being dispatched to the North Gate Area in reference to a domestic disturbance between a male and female.

Police report speaking to the female, who stated that 59-year-old Ben Rose assaulted her. According to the citation the female victim continued to state how Ben Rose grabbed her by the arm, grabbed her throat, pulled her hair, and took her phone. According to police, a bystander approached officers and stated he observed Ben Rose chase the female into the parking lot and around the pillars of the motel they were staying at.

Ben allegedly stated to police that he did grab her by the arm and neck but that the victim bruises easily and has thin blood. He further stated that he didn’t chase the victim into the parking lot despite the witness and victim disputing his claim. The couple stated that they’ve been together for 5 years and according to the citation after photographing the room and injuries they arrested Rose on an Assault 4th Degree charge and lodged him in the Madison County Detention Center
