The preliminary investigation indicates that police were notified of an individual allegedly attempting to break into vehicles located in the parking lot of the fast food restaurant.

Upon arrival on the scene, Georgetown Police Department report that officers approached the suspect, at which time the individual ran and attempted to break into a vehicle.

The male suspect then turned and pointed a gun at officers. During the course of that confrontation, shots were fired.
