Six arrested following theft investigation


Six Laurel County residents were arrested on Wednesday morning after police discovered numerous stolen items in their possession. Sheriff’s detectives and deputies were investigating a theft complaint on Highway 3094 near East Bernstadt, when they found the suspects in possession of a stolen welder, ladder, and air compressor.

In addition, some of the suspects were located with outstanding warrants. Billy Hurley, Jr of East Bernstadt was charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking under $500, and charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging Failure to Appear in Court on charges of Driving on a DUI Suspended license.

Roger Flannery of East Bernstadt and Michael Dusenberry of London were charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking under $500.

Christy Laws of London, along with Donnie Simpson and Brandon D. Cawood of East Bernstadt were charged with Failing to Appear in Court. All six individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
