KYTC Working Overnight as Snow Predicted to Change to Freezing Rain

KYTC District 7 forces are prepared for the predicted winter weather. At this time snow fall is already present in some of the D7 counties. The forecast shows snow changing into a freezing drizzle and rain near midnight.

Crews spent the day performing maintenance on equipment, and making preparations for this next storm event. In addition, personnel cleaned debris from roadways and continued plowing/treating routes. Pushing back shoulders, and median areas reduce melting snow and ice from draining across travel lanes and refreezing. Personnel will work overnight and into the morning hours.

Priority A routes are the main focus, with operations for B and C routes to follow. Temperatures across the district at this time range between 22-24 degrees.
