Tennessee Murder Suspect Arrested in Frankfort Following Interstate Pursuit


Kentucky State Police Post 12 Frankfort was notified by the Knoxville Police Department just before 9 pm yesterday evening in reference to a murder suspect they were tracking in the Fayette County area.

Horace Nunez, 28 years old of Knoxville, Tennessee, was wanted out of Tennessee for the murder of a female individual earlier that day. Post 12 units located the suspect vehicle traveling westbound on I-64 approaching Frankfort. Following a short vehicle pursuit, Nunez lost control of his vehicle resulting in a minor collision. He was taken into custody and transported to Frankfort Regional Medical Center where he was treated for minor injuries. He is currently being lodged at the Franklin County Detention Center. 

Horace Nunez was charged with Fleeing and Evading Police 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle), Reckless Driving, Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence, Possession of an Open Alcoholic Beverage Container, Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree (Police Officer), Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, and Failure to Wear Seatbelts. Mr. Nunez also had three separate out-of-state warrants from Tennessee that were for Murder 1st Degree, Reckless Endangerment, and Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon.

The investigation remains ongoing by KSP Post 12 Troopers.
