Suspicious Activity Leads to Drug Arrest in Laurel County


On Wednesday afternoon, Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputies made an arrest near East Laurel Rd. in London. Officers were Dispatched after complaints were made about a suspicious person in the area.

The female suspect, later identified as Kathleen Phillips of Stanford, was reportedly acting strange, running and hiding behind trees when cars would pass on the roadway. When police arrived at the scene, they located Phillips and conducted an investigation, where they determined that she was under the influence.

According to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, Phillips had two outstanding warrants of arrest from Lincoln County. In Addition, this subject was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine, a loaded hypodermic needle, a straw with residue, and marijuana.

Kathleen J. Phillips was Arrested and charged with 1st Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Public Intoxication; and Possession of Marijuana, In addition, this subject was charged on two Lincoln Circuit Court bench warrants of arrest charging failure to appear in court.
