KSP Recovers Stolen Commercial Vehicle and Construction Equipment


Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement was contacted Thursday morning by the Lancaster Police Department in an attempt to locate a stolen road department truck.

While patrolling US Highway 25 in Livingston, officers located a vehicle matching the description being operated by 25 year-old Terry Hawley of Lancaster.  Investigators discovered that the vehicle had been stolen in the early morning hours from the Garrard County Road Department.

Police say that the truck was then used to steal a trailer, skid-steer, and other construction equipment later the same day from PECCO Inc. of Nicholasville.

Hawley was arrested and lodged in the Rockcastle Co. Detention Center and charged with Receiving Stolen Property, Theft By Unlawful Taking ($10,000 or more), 3rd Degree Criminal Mischief, and 2nd Degree Criminal Trespassing.
