Richmond IT Director Terminated Following Alleged Misconduct

In an update to the ongoing investigation into alleged misconduct within city hall, the Richmond City IT Director has now been officially terminated. Tracy Bryant, the former Director of the Information and Technology Department who was initially suspended for the alleged misconduct was officially fired following an unanimous city commission vote Tuesday night.

Commissioner Jason Morgan, who is also implicated in the incident, recused himself from the vote involving the violation of city policy. Morgan allegedly worked with Bryant to procure screenshots of another employee’s information using email, which led to the suspension and now termination of Bryant.

Richmond City Attorney Tyler Frazier took to the podium Tuesday to read city ordinances, and cited the decision to terminate Bryant.

Morgan and Bryant are still currently under investigation by the Richmond Police Department.
