Fayette Mall Shooting Suspect Arrested by Lexington Police


A man connected to the Sunday shooting at the Fayette Mall has been taken into police custody and charged with murder following the death of 17 year-old Kenneth Bottoms, Jr.

Lexington Police arrested 19 year-old Xavier Hardin on Monday evening, and lodged him in the Fayette County Detention Center. Hardin was charged with Murder and two counts of 1st Degree Assault.

Two additional individuals were also arrested on Monday in connection to the shooting. Cion Townsend and Nasir Lyons were arrested and charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence.

Three victims were injured in Sunday’s shooting. Bottoms and two non-related individuals who were in the proximity of the area where the shooting took place. All three were transported to a nearby hospital, where Bottoms was pronounced dead that evening.
