Traffic Stop in Boyle County Leads to Drug Bust


Wednesday the Boyle County Sheriff’s Department attempted to traffic stop a white Chevy truck on Alum Springs Road in Parksville, and took the driver in on a multitude of charges.

According to deputies, the truck continued traveling on Alum Springs fleeing from police. The white truck turned onto Yates Road when an off duty Mercer County Deputy was able to block the truck in. After a brief scuffle deputies were able to get the driver out of the truck and into custody.

The driver was identified as Justin Cooper of Danville. During the arrest Methamphetamine, Heroin, distribution bags and scales were found in Cooper’s possession.

Cooper was charged with Fleeing and Evading 1st Degree, Careless Driving, Driving on DUI Suspended License, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct, Drug Paraphernalia, Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of Heroin, Possession Drug Unspecified, Tampering with Physical Evidence and Promoting Contraband.
