A Domestic Dispute in a Church Parking Lot Leads to an Arrest


Friday on Scaffold Cane Road, the Berea Police Department report responding to a call from a woman who allegedly stated that her and her boyfriend got into an argument. The woman allegedly advised police that alcohol had also been involved, and her boyfriend, 32 year old Charles Endicott had walked down the road to Bethel Baptist Church to allegedly drink there.

The girlfriend advised authorities that she went to locate Endicott, who she told police she found sitting behind a church bus in the parking lot. Reportedly Endicott started yelling obscenities at his girlfriend before allegedly pushing her up against a church van and placing his hands around her neck. The victim reported to police that she was unable to breathe and felt like she was going to pass out, so she then grabbed a beer bottle and hit Endicott over the head with it, causing a cut above his eye. The victim reported Endicott then entered his vehicle and leaving the scene.

After police examined the victim’s injuries police located a red mark on the left side of her throat, dried blood in and around her mouth and a bruise on her right arm. She was transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital via Madison County EMS.

Police report making contact with Endicott and lodging him in the Madison County Detention Center on charges of 1st Degree Strangulation and Assault, 4th Degree
