Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a residence earlier this morning, following a complaint involving a male subject who had apparently broken into the victim’s garage.
The suspect, later identified as Landon Collins, was still inside the garage at the time of police arrival to the Locust Grove Road residence. He reportedly failed to comply with deputies’ commands after they made contact. Following a brief struggle with authorities, Collins was taken into custody.
According to police, the suspect attempted to spit on officers as he was being escorted to the squad car. This subject allegedly told deputies he had consumed a handful of Xanax bars earlier. Landon Collins was charged with 3rd Degree Burglary, 3rd Degree Criminal Mischief, Resisting Arrest, and Public Intoxication. Collins was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
