Statement from Coach Turley on leaving Madison Southern “Leaving Southern is extremely hard; it is a great school and community! Unfortunately the funding for my wife’s job was cut and it was her job that actually brought us back to KY. Thankfully, she has found a new position but it is going to require us to relocate to Orlando. I hate to leave Southern because I believe we were building something special but more so because the team & staff are family. They are a fantastic group of young women and I truly will miss coaching them. Lastly I want to thank the administration for giving the opportunity to coach and teach at Southern. Go Eagles!”
Madison Southern will be looking for a new Head Girls Basketball Coach after the surprising news that Allie Turley has stepped down after one season at the helm. Multiple outlets are reporting that the first year coach stepped down Monday.
Coach Turley came to Berea from IMG Academy in Florida. In his only season at Madison Southern he led the Eagles to a 16-15 season. Lady Eagles fell to Madison Central in the opening round of the 44th district tournament. The loss to the Indians in the district was the only loss in district play. Eagles held wins over Berea and Madison Central in the regular season. Madison Southern played a tough schedule as they finished 4th in the tough 11th region in RPI.
