Appalachian Wireless Pledges to “Keep Americans Connected”

Many companies have had to make adjustments to their business model in the wake of the widespread threat of COVID-19.

An Eastern Kentucky wireless network provider, Appalachian Wireless, is joining that list as they have altered their hours of operation and adopted a temporary policy that will help its customers stay in touch during the next couple of months.

Beginning on March 18th, new temporary store hours will be in effect to help minimize health risks. From 11am to 12pm, only customers aged 60 or older or those with vulnerabilities to illness will be allowed in stores.

Following this one hour span, any customer will be allowed into the store for necessary services until 6pm.

Appalachian Wireless requests that customers limit store visits as much as possible, and to make every attempt to resolve issues online or by phone.

The wireless provider has also announced that they have joined with other carriers across the nation and adopted the “Keep American Connected Pledge”. For a period of 60 days, which began on March 13th, Appalachian Wireless will waive late fees that any residential or small business customers incur due to economic circumstances related to COVID-19.

The Eastern Kentucky network has also stated that they will not terminate services of any residential or small business customers resulting from an inability to pay bills due to disruption caused by COVID-19 during the 60-day time frame.
