The Richmond Parks and Recreation Department has announced some current closures at Lake Reba, which will bring about some exciting changes to the park.
Beginning the week of February 24th, both playgrounds at Lake Reba Park will be closed for repairs and improvements.
Phase 1- The first stage of the project will include repairs and updates to the Ages 2-12 playground (left side of the park). The swings will be replaced, a new playhouse and a new climbing bear will be installed. The timeline on this project is weather dependent.
Phase 2- Installation of the Inclusive Playground will start afterMarch 6th on the ages 5-12 playground, on the right side of the park. The current playground equipment for ages 5-12 was installed in 1993. During this second phase of construction, we hope to open the ages 2-12 playground, on the left side. Completion of this phase will be weather dependent.
The Parks and Recreation Department ask that you please keep children away from the playground construction zone for their safety.
Also, over the next few months, the Lake Reba basketball courts will be under construction for repairs to the wall surrounding the courts. The department says they hope to have this project done by mid April. They add to also keep in mind that the little league fields are being prepped fro spring play, and as this winter has been exceptionally wet these areas will be closed as well.
