The rain is finally on its way out, but that flood watch stays in effect for most of Kentucky.
WBON TV went out this morning to take a look at the hardest-hit areas of Madison County. Areas along the river have the most standing water at this point, and the Valley View Ferry is closed due to high water on the river.
Since the rain is finally moving out of the area, we should see those conditions improve throughout the next few days.
Today, the rain will gradually move out of the Bluegrass with daytime highs topping out in the mid 40s, but then falling through the night. Tonight is going to get cold, but the good news is that we should rebound fairly quickly. Lows in the upper teens are in store for us overnight.
Highs for Friday are only making it to around freezing, but we should see some sun out there for the first time in several days. We will gradually warm up through the weekend and by early next week, we should be into the mid 50s with no rain.
As of right now, it looks like the rain will stay away until the middle of next week.
