Local Police Seize $110K Worth of Drugs and Money


According to local police, they recently seized over $40,000.00 worth of drugs and over $70,000.00 dollars.

The Richmond Police Department reports that on February 12th, they conducted an investigation following a traffic stop that resulted in the seizure of approximately $23,000.00 in US Currency, approximately 41 grams of heroin, approximately 19 grams of methamphetamine, a single hydrocodone tablet and a .40 caliber handgun.

John William Lawson was arrested as a result of this investigation.

The Richmond Police Department along with members of the Madison County AHIDTA Drug Task Force executed a search warrant in Madison County.

During the course of the search warrant, officers located approximately 700 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 2000 Xanax tablets a .357 caliber handgun, a .22 caliber rifle and approximately $50,000.00 in US Currency.

The Madison County AHIDTA drug task force is comprised of the Kentucky State Police, Madison County Sheriff’s Department, Richmond Police Department, Berea Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
