The Madison County Animal Shelter held a special weekend adoption event this past Saturday, offering a chance to those whose schedules prevent them from seeing a furry friend during the work week.
WBON TV was there to talk to animal coordinator Katie Tibbs, about the event turnout and how people can help the animals even without adopting them.
The special Saturday adoption event took place from 10:00am to 1:00pm and provided an additional chance for the shelter to reduce their full adoption floor. Tibbs says that the event was successful, finding homes for several animals.
In addition to adoption opportunities, the Madison County Animal Shelter offers several valuable services such as dog licenses and micro-chipping to pet owners.
The shelter, located at 1386 Richmond Road in Berea, is open to help from the public. Supplies such as wet and dry pet foods and cleaning items are always welcome.
