Berea Police responded to a complaint of domestic violence occurring at a Douglas Street residence Wednesday afternoon.
When officers arrived to the home, both parties admitted that the confrontation was only verbal. However, one of the individuals claimed that Ricara Kimbel had broken both a bedroom window on the side of the house as well as an oven door in the kitchen.
Police observed the broken glass around the aforementioned areas, and noted that both items were completely smashed.
Kimbel reportedly stated that she had been banging on the bedroom window, and had broken it due to being in a state of anger. She also claimed that the oven door was smashed as a result of striking it with a broom while sweeping.
The other individual involved in the arguments claimed that they saw Kimbel break the oven door with a hammer instead. The hammer allegedly used by Kimbel was located by authorities.
The total cost to repair the property damages was estimated at $1,000.
Kimbel was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Criminal Mischief.
