Estill Co. Students Arrive at School Safe and Sound Despite Bus Crash Rumors

There was some confusion and panic among parents this morning as a social media post circulated, claiming that there had been a school bus crash in the area of Drip Rock.

According to Estill County Schools Superintendent Jeff Saylor, the bus was not involved in a wreck. The driver of the bus had instead pulled off to the side of the road amid hazardous road conditions. City officials were then contacted to treat the roadways, which saw minor snow accumulation, with salt trucks before the bus resumed travel.

Some parents of county students expressed concerns over the decision to conduct the school day on a regular schedule, however, all students were accounted for safely at the school.
