Richmond Man Arrested on Alleged Charges of Sexual Abuse Towards a Minor


The Richmond Police Department arrested 38-year-old Jason Baldwin on a complaint warrant containing charges of first-degree sexual abuse of a victim under 12, use of a minor (under 16) in a sex performance and possess/viewing matter portraying sexual performances by a minor.

According to officials in an investigation of another case involving Baldwin, a search warrant was obtained for Baldwin’s cellphone. Upon further investigation, officers allegedly found 928 images of explicit material depicting juvenile males and females nude and performing sexual acts between the dates of June 2017 to January 2019.

On the phone, Officers report that they were able to identify a victim as someone that Baldwin knew through pictures of the victim on Christmas wearing the same shirt in the sexual content allegedly possessed by Baldwin.

According to the warrant, police interviewed the victim, and asked about Baldwin, the victim stated that Baldwin allegedly touched their privates on more occasions than can be recalled.

Baldwin was arrested and taken to the Madison County Detention Center.
