Madison County Receives Nearly $11.5K Grant

Madison County Judge Executive Reagan Taylor announced that Madison County, in partnership with the Madison County Sheriff’s Department and City of Richmond Police Department, is the recipient of the 2019 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG).  The Justice Assistance Grant is a federal justice funding provided to state and local jurisdictions supporting a variety of justice sectors, including local law enforcement.

“This is an example of how the critical it is for local governments to collaborate and partner in this era of limited grant dollars,” said Judge Executive Reagan Taylor. “Funding to support our law enforcement officers is critical and my administration is committed to finding ways to make every dollar count.”

This year’s award is for $11,461 will go toward purchase of equipment to enhance public safety, enhance officer safety, and improve law enforcement capabilities for both law enforcement agencies.
