Unsanitary Living Conditions Lead to Criminal Abuse Charges for Laurel County Couple

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Department was called to investigate a home near David Hibbitts Lane on Monday evening.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the residents of the home and entry to the residence was made. Officials reportedly deemed the living conditions to be unfit for anyone to live in as multiple rooms were discovered to be full of trash and spoiled food items.

Four small children aged from 2-12 were living in the household at the time.

Social Services officials were called to the scene to take custody of the children. Christopher and Brandy Bowling were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center and were charged with four counts of 3rd Degree Criminal Abuse (child 12 or under).
