Governor Bevin, Kentucky State Police to Announce New Victim Advocacy Program

Kentucky State Police will be having an announcement this Thursday at KSP Post 4 in Elizabethtown. The announcement, which is scheduled to take place at 11am, will be centered around a new program that will provide jobs throughout Kentucky.

Introduction of the new KSP Victim Advocacy Program will add 16 full-time positions statewide. Victim advocates will be trained to assist victims of crime or critical incidents. Through funding from Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) and partnership with state agencies, this program will strengthen outreach from law enforcement to victims, providing them with the support they need.

Governor Matt Bevin, U.S. Deputy Assistant Attorney General Katharine Sullivan, Justice and Public Safety Cabinet Secretary John Tilley, and Kentucky State Police Commissioner Richard Sanders will all be in attendance at the conference.
