Sparks Pleads Not Guilty for Savannah Spurlock Murder Charge

A not guilty plea has now been entered on behalf of David Allen Sparks in the murder trial for Savannah Spurlock. Sparks had been previously charged with tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse, but is now facing a charge of murder after Spurlock’s body was located at a Garrard county home.

Sparks was taken into custody in July, six months after the mother of four had last been seen alive. A grand jury indicted Sparks on the murder charge last month, however her cause of death has still not been released.

According to court documents, Sparks committed “the offense of murder when he intentionally caused the death of Savannah Spurlock”. Sparks told authorities he was with her the night of her disappearance, along with two other men, but that she was gone when he woke up that morning. He remains lodged in the Lincoln County Detention Center.
