Gibson Lane Shooting Details Reveal Possible Drug Deal Gone Wrong


On Tuesday, police report being dispatched to a Gibson Lane apartment in reference to a male subject being shot. All 3 involved subjects were arrested including the victim who was shot.

Officials report making contact with the victim, 24-year-old Christopher Bultman who had been shot in the shoulder which appeared to be a non-life threatening injury. While executing a search warrant on the victim’s apartment police identified a roommate, 23-year-old Deantre Jones also living in the same apartment. 21 grams of black tar heroin was reportedly discovered in the apartment along with a Smith and Wesson Revolver.

Police arrested both subjects living within the building as well as the shooter, 21 year old Corey M. Jones who later admitted to the crime and claimed self defense. Jones was arrested at his residence on Ty Lane. The victim, Bultman was arrested at the UK ER and the roommate was detained after the warrant was executed.

Both residents of the apartment were arrested on a heroin charge and possession of a firearm charge. The shooter was arrested for 1st degree assault. All parties have been lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
