Homeless Man Arrested for Assault

Richmond Police recently responded to a call about an alleged domestic dispute in a Big Hill Avenue parking lot.

Upon arrival, the officer reportedly observed the victim with a bloody face and swollen eye. The victim advised the officer that a male subject, later identified as Christian Gholson, had physically assaulted them.

According to the citation, the victim claimed that the two of them were sleeping in a vehicle together. Allegedly, Gholson woke the victim up and began yelling at them before being pushed away. This led to Gholson reportedly striking the victim in the face multiple times.

Authorities determined that Gholson had intentionally or wantonly caused physical injury to the victim during this incident. The officer then arrested Gholson and transferred him to the Madison County Detention Center, where he was charged with 4th Degree Assault.
