Estill County Animal Shelter Takes in 17 Animals Following Owsley County Hoarding Situation

The Estill County Animal Shelter now has a batch of new animals after they were rescued from Owsley County. According to animal control officer Tommy Mullen, the 11 cats and 6 dogs were taken from an older disabled lady that was allegedly a hoarder.

Mullen states that the animals were removed from her home because it was in such bad shape. It seems the woman has now left Kentucky to go live with family because of the destitute state of the residence.

Around 10 to 12 more cats could be coming to the shelter but traps have to be set up to capture them, according to shelter officials.
