A Little “Motown Magic” at the 38th Annual Pops at the Park!

WBON went to the historical White Hall Park site to learn more about what to expect at the upcoming Pops at the Park event.

The event, which starts at 5pm on August 24th, will host a special set of live musical performances based on the music of legendary R&B record label, Motown. Executive Director of the Richmond Area Arts Council Randy Westbrook told us that event will see a variety of performances, including Lexington-based Jazz/R&B group Superfecta.

Also performing in the event’s lineup is the Madison Central Jazz Band, some members of which will be performing in this year’s Macy’s Day Parade as part of the Madison Central High School Marching Band. The EKU Symphony Orchestra will also be taking the stage at the musical gathering.

Music isn’t the only thing attendees can expect at the 38th Annual Pops at the Park, either! Other festivities will include picnic dinners, dancing, and a fireworks display at 10pm.

If you’re interested in getting tickets to the event, you can call the Richmond Chamber of Commerce at (859) 623-1720 for more info.
