Heat and Humidity Bring Potential Thunderstorms, Triple Digit Heat Index

Hot and humid, just like summer is supposed to be in Kentucky.

Highs today were in the low 90’s with high humidity. Overnight, temps are going to be very warm, with lows only dropping into the mid 70’s.

Tomorrow, the warm-up is going to happen quickly with very warm temps and a high dew-point. When you add those two things together, you are going to get a heat index in the triple digits here in central Kentucky.

With those hot temps, you will also see an increased risk for severe weather tomorrow morning and again tomorrow afternoon. The severe weather is going to be hit and miss so not everyone will see storms tomorrow.

Looking ahead to Wednesday, lots of kids in the area will be headed back to school and we are looking at highs around 90 degrees a small chance for some rain and storms for the first day of classes.
