New Interchange Project Will Ease Traffic Burdens at Exit 95

WBON-TV sat down with Madison County Judge-Executive, Reagan Taylor, and he told us all about the new Highway 627 interchange project happening at Exit 95 and what it will mean for motorists in the area.

Taylor explained how the new interchange will allow traffic to be dispersed more efficiently and how drivers traveling from Winchester will receive easier access to the Interstate.

“If you can envision Exit 87 and I’m coming down the EKU Bypass from Eastern and I want to go north on I-75, once I get to that ramp, I automatically merge on,” said Taylor. “Picture that same thing coming from Winchester down 627.”

The project will provide 4 additional lanes on Highway 627, two lanes going east and west as well as two turn lanes.
