Following Injury, McConnell Business At Noon Richmond Date Postponed

Senator Mitch McConnell is recuperating after fracturing his shoulder following him tripping at his Louisville home this weekend.

The 77-year-old McConnell’s mishap occurred a day after he engaged with both supporters and detractors at the raucous Fancy Farm picnic in Western Kentucky Saturday. The Fancy Farm picnic marks the traditional opening day for the fall campaign season in Kentucky.

As a result, the Richmond Chamber of Commerce Business at Noon Luncheon which was set to host McConnell tomorrow has been postponed.

According to the Chamber, McConnell has plans to return sometime in the fall when he is done convalescing.

McConnell’s office reports that he is resting at home, and conducting business there until he recuperates.
