NORMAN, Okla. – Eastern Kentucky’s Edvin Lindgren, Erik Lindwall and Andreas Nielsen were chosen as Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), the organization announced recently.
Lindgren, Lindwall and Nielsen were three of 266 NCAA Division I men’s golfers from across the nation chosen for the honor. Lindgren and Lindwall, both from Sweden, wrapped up their senior campaigns in 2018-19. Nielsen, a native of Ikast, Denmark, completed his junior year in 2018-19.
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, participate in 50-percent of his team’s competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, 78.0 in Division II, 78.0 in NAIA and 79.0 in Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
Lindgren completed a degree in management and Lindwall earned a business degree. Nielsen is pursuing a degree in sport management.
