A deadly explosion has left multiple people with injuries. The Lincoln County Coroner has also confirmed that one woman has died, but has not disclosed any official cause of death.
The explosion reportedly occurred around 1:20am near the county line between Lincoln and Boyle Counties. The intense fireball set several nearby structures ablaze, and caused damage to railroad tracks which run through the area.
An immediate evacuation of nearby residents was initiated.
Kentucky State Trooper Robert Purdy has confirmed that there are several persons still missing and that they were being searched for.
Lincoln County Emergency Officials have stated that there is a shelter for those being displaced by the explosion at New Hope Baptist Church at 61 Roman Road in Stanford, KY.
Investigations as to what triggered the major explosion are still ongoing.
